I used to plan my day-to-day activities, taking into consideration all the things to be done, all the reports to be submitted, all the compromises to be fulfilled, etc. Since it will be the last week of the current semester, schedules of the final examination has been set. After the examination will be the checking of papers, encoding of scores obtained by the students and grade computation in preparation for the distribution of grades. I’m glad one of the subjects I’m handling now is CCNA Exploration II. Since there is an online facility for the course, less work entails on the part of the instructor. There is lesser work in test construction, checking of examination, tallying of examination results and computation of grade. These are all accommodated in the online facility. My only concern will be to download the CSV to convert to the format being followed by the university. On my two other courses, I am teaching Programming II: Visual Basic Programming.
I have set already the schedule for the week: Monday will be our last meeting for the last topic discussion, Tueday will be their hands-on examination and their written final examination will be as scheduled which will be from Wednesday to Friday. For the CCNA class, Monday will be their modules 10 and 11 examination and on Tuesday will their final examination since we normally didn’t schedule the CCNA examination along with the other subjects because it is taken on-line.
But on Saturday, I received a call from our VPREPD informing me that I’m going to attend a two-day training on HRIS at PCCARD being the designated RMIS representative of the University to the STARRDEC consortia, together with one staff from Research Office, and on the coming Thursday, I’m going to take the Lab Assessment Examination for the IOSN Lab Training.
I was able to meet my VB class on Monday for the last topic discussion and scheduled the modules 10 & 11 examination for the CCNA class, however, another problem was encountered in the Cisco Lab, there were only a few computers with internet connectivity running and the time will not cover the entire class for batch examination. I asked my secondary instructor to reschedule the module and final examinations for the CCNA class as I am not sure if there will be internet access on the seminar venue, though I can activate the examination through my phone via 3G access. Luckily, when I was on the seminar venue already, we have internet access and I activated the modules exams for three hours, that was 9:00 AM. I even called my student assistant informing him of the activated exams. I checked back at 12:00 noon and to my surprise, nobody tool the examination.
For the two-day, training workshop about the human resource information system (HRIS) for researchers, IMHO, the training is not too interesting because the system is too simple (for an IT people) while for the other participants really enjoyed the workshop. The seminar workshop ended after lunch the following day.
Thursday morning, i woke up early for my CICT trip, since I must be in the examination venue at 8:00 AM. However, as a university measure to save expenses, my trip ticket includes some other people from the different offices who are also attending important matters in Manila. Unfortunately, some people are insensitive on the schedule of other, so I arrived at the examination venue at 9:15. So that means, I’m fucking late for the examination. I approached the proctor and asked him if I can still take the examination and gladly, he allowed me to take the examination. The examination is all about lab assessment and passers will qualify to the training that will be conducted later. I finished the examination before lunch time and I headed back to the university. I took the bus ride instead of waiting for the other passengers going home. When I arrived at the university, I checked again the Cisco portal and I am surprised to learn that my students took the examination the previous day and some are taking the exam at that moment. I immediately called the attention of my SA and asked him who ask my secondary instructor to activate the exam without my knowledge. I got furious over this matter.
With these turn of events, i have to set another schedule for the hands-on examination as well as for the online final. Whew.
Hello and good day to you. My wife attended an interview with Dr. F Alemi at CPNIS and he told her that it is possible for her to be with me in less than two months. Did Dr. Alemi give you an estimate on how soon you would get your Visa as a skilled worker? Was he telling the truth? I can’t find any other mention of him on the Internet. I’m just worried about it all being a scam where he takes the money and never does anything. I’m also worried about not being able to get back the refundable part of the payment if my wife is denied for her super-quick Visa.
Hi. I’m not familiar with the Quick visa. I had my medical last January 23 and based on the letter sent by the Canadian Embassy, they will contact me in the next three to six months if i have additional requirements to submit, otherwise I’ll just wait for the final decision whether I will be issued a visa or not. Although i was informed by the senior consultant that decision will be made at least 45 days after the canadian govt received my medical result.
I guess this is also case to case basis. Maybe you’re wife is eligible for quick visa because you’re already there.
Hi Jun, thanks for your reply. Your blog and comments are providing some important insight into the reality of the immigration process. We are eager to read more about your progress and eventual success at being granted your Visa.
